Greetings!
I have been enjoying the warm weather a bit more. I'm also dreaming of Maine. Covid took our annual trip last summer. My incredible grandmother will be 99 in the fall, so every visit is a gift. A photo of Thurston's Wharf appeared in a text message a few days ago. I had forgotten that months ago I had shared my 'where to eat and visit' list for Mount Desert Island with local friends. Well, sure enough, there they were in my little village of Bernard, on the harbor of my childhood. Their plan after eating lobster was to find the hidden beach that I had suggested. The next photo that came through shortly after was from Lopaus Point, on Back Beach. The view was like a flash back in time. With only a variance in angle, it was the view from my bedroom in the home I grew up in. I am officially homesick! If you have visited Acadia, share your favorite memory with me.
The Lopaus Point kitchen is filled with the sweet faces of our summer helpers. It's always fun to have new faces and energy to mix things up. We've got both high school and college aged peeps on our team and it makes me happy to be around them. They too have had a tough year and I hope their time at Lopaus this summer will bring them some joy making waffles!
Thank you for purchasing our small batch waffles. Our tiny and mighty team keeps growing because of you and your waffle love.
Find the joy, feel the joy, share the joy.
